However, Adidas surprised us by announcing a collaboration with Dubai-based Pakistani restaurant Ravi for a pair of limited-edition Superstar sneakers.

Seamless Middle East 31st May – 1st June 2022, Dubai World Trade Centre

Seamless Middle East: a meeting of minds, summit and exhibition in the world of fintech, payments, retail and e-commerce took place recently at World Trade Centre Dubai. With 10,000 attendees, 300 speakers, and countless connections being made in person. This event is a key meeting place for the brave new world of commerce. Having been built on 23 years of experience – Seamless is a dynamic summit and large scale exhibition bringing together the converging worlds of ecommerce, retail and payments, under the patronage of His Highness Lieutenant-General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior. We sent our resident IT specialist to find out more.
It feels wonderful to be back and able to attend live events, especially an event like Seamless where the main focus is the commerce sector. Personally, we believe nothing beats the physical environment dedicated around commerce.
Our IT Specialist found it really fruitful connecting with various suppliers and e-commerce providers like Bigcommerce, Algolia etc. Additionally it was a great opportunity to connect with various e-commerce integration teams with dedicated order management systems that provide various payment gateways currently available in the Middle-East.
There were various demonstrations of how Artificial Intelligence is used for smart warehouse storage management, with automated robots for managing and moving the stocks, packing, etc. Here we got to see, in person, how Amazon and others like them use this technology in the fulfilment centres and distribution hubs of the future.

Real Life Squid Games! Will You Play?

After Netflix giving the green light to Season 2 of Squid Game, Netflix are also looking to cast you to compete in a real-life Squid Game.
In a dystopian twist, the streaming platform is literally turning its most-watched original series – which, as you might recall, involves a competition in which players perform a series of kids’ games, with the losers being murdered on the spot – into an actual reality show.
Like the fictional Squid Game, Squid: The Challenge will involve 456 contestants competing for a sum of money: in this case, $4.56 million – supposedly the largest prize in TV history. Netflix is calling it ‘the biggest reality competition series ever.
There won’t be any deaths involved of course…

ONE SHOT MAGAZINE : WARNER BROS X NME

To promote the upcoming film Elvis, Warner Bros has partnered with NME for a standalone free print issue dedicated to the film, which will be released in cinemas across the UK and Ireland on Friday June 24 2022.
The 36-page dedicated issue will celebrate the film by looking at the life and career of Elvis Presley. It will also feature interviews with the film’s star Austin Butler and writer, director and producer Baz Luhrmann, a special Elvis-inspired shoot with up-and-coming artists including Wallice and Master Peace, NME’s guide to 10 Elvis tracks you didn’t know you loved, and much more.

Little Moons Gives a Hand – And Ice-Creams – From Interactive Billboard

Ice-cream brand Little Moons were handing out the sweet treats to passersby from a rather odd billboard in London.
The installation was placed at the Whitfield Gardens site in Tottenham Court Road and was speckled with holes from which generous staff could pop out their arms and share ice-creams.
The out-of-home (OOH) work was created by Lucky Generals and saw staff indulge passersby in thumb wars and high-fives. Tote bags, umbrellas and cinema tickets were also being handed out.
Paul Mallon, head of special ops at Lucky Generals, said: “This was hands down one of the best and most uplifting stunts I’ve worked on.”

ToDA’s new Digital Extravaganza exhibition is for those who wish to embark on an immersive experience. Global artists are showcasing their talents at the exhibit that takes visitors across unknown lands on Earth and in other galaxies through the Metaverse gallery.
Sounds cool. Visitors can also see an A1 model, which is a 3D holographic figure that is connected to a language bot.
