Farewell Expo 2020!
182 days of collaboration, innovation and marvelling at what humanity can accomplish together!
The breathtaking architecture of pavilions housing groundbreaking technological advances and immersive experiences where you can lose yourself in incredible live performances, and travel the world’s cultures and cuisines in one amazing place has finally come to an end!
It’s been an amazing run. This week the Expo2020 has become the first World Expo in the region fulfilling its commitment to attract between 22.9 million and 25.4 million visits, a target range set out in the registration dossier that was officially ratified by Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) member states in 2015, and a remarkable achievement in the context of the global COVID-19 pandemic. How amazing is that?
UAE: Ramadan initiative to help 500 needy students complete education
Abu Dhabi University (ADU) and Zakat Fund have launched a charitable initiative to raise money to help hundreds of local and expatriate students in the UAE facing financial problems complete their studies.
The ‘Our Youth Our Responsibility, Our Zakat Our Immunity’ initiative, which is now in its 12th year since its launch, has raised more than Dh71 million and extended financial aid to 3,580 students. This year, the fund aims to reduce the financial burden of 500 deserving students who are eligible zakat recipients.
DISTRICT 2020
District 2020 will evolve from Expo 2020 Dubai as a smart and sustainable city centered on the needs of its urban community. It will provide a curated innovation-driven business ecosystem that brings together global minds and embraces technology and digital innovation to support industry growth.
Following the six months of the World Expo, District 2020 will re-purpose 80% of the Expo’s build environment into an integrated mixed use community that will continue to attract businesses and people to work, live, visit and enjoy

BURGER KING’S POOP EMOJI ICE-CREAM
Following the critical success of the “Mouldy Whopper”, Burger King is again associating food with things we rather not associate with it. This time, it’s poop. The “Poop Emoji Ice Cream” is basically a chocolate ice cream with eyes, designed to look like the poop emoji, says the brand, as a way of emphasizing that it is no longer made with things such as artificial colors and preservatives. Or, as Burger King puts it, “Our ice creams used to have this shit.” Now, they don’t.
